Ukrainian Egg Dyeing, Candle Making, & Basket Weaving with Alecia Dodge

A few spots remain to join a small group of participants for three days of craft making in a private home overlooking the beautiful Mendocino coast. Master handwork teacher, Alecia Dodge, will guide the group through three different crafts. Outside of crafting time you can enjoy ocean views from the house or walk down to the beaches nearby. We will celebrate the opening of the workshop on Saturday evening with an optional delicious pub dinner at the Old Westport Hotel & Old Abalone Pub, a short walk from the house.

When & Where
Saturday, February 15 – Monday, February 17, 2020
The workshop will be held in a private home in Westport, Mendocino, thirty minutes north of Fort Bragg.
We will begin at 1 pm on Saturday and end at 5 pm on Monday.

Accommodation
Beds are available in the home for $25/night, bedding not included. Participants may book a bed for Monday night following the end of the workshop for a Tuesday morning departure. Payment for accommodation is payable in cash or check upon arrival.

Food
There is a full kitchen where participants can store and prepare snacks and meals. Food is not provided.

Carpools
Westport is 3 1/2 hours north of San Francisco. As participants register, those who wish to carpool will be put in touch with one another.


Alecia Dodge has been teaching in Waldorf Education for over 28 years. As a handwork teacher, she taught for fourteen years at the Waldorf School of Santa Barbara followed by four years at Waldorf School of the Peninsula. She returned to the Waldorf School of Santa Barbara as a class teacher in 2010 and graduated that class in 2017. In 1999 she was part of the first graduating class of the Applied Arts Program at Sunbridge College in Spring Valley, New York. Alecia holds a BS degree in Home Economics from the University of California at Davis, MA in Waldorf Education and received her Waldorf Teaching Certificate from Rudolf Steiner College. Prior to becoming a Waldorf teacher, she was an entrepreneur, owning and operating her own dressmaking/design shop in Berkeley, California. Alecia is married with two grown children, both of whom attended the Waldorf School of Santa Barbara from kindergarten through the eighth grade.
